Lock and Dam No. 5 is one of five navigation lock and dam structures that comprise the J. Bennett Johnson Waterway on the Red River, and one of three that Natel will develop to add power generation. The project will be developed using Natel’s FishSafe™ RHT design and will generate an estimated 20 MW of electricity.

The historic Freedom Falls Mill is situated on the headwaters of Sandy Stream in central Maine. The project delivers 35 kW to the surrounding community and directly to the operation of The Mill’s Lost Kitchen restaurant. The Freedom Falls Mill is certified as a Low Impact Hydropower project.
